The Houston Housing Authority is a real estate developer and asset manager that provides quality, affordable housing for more than 51,000 Houstonians. For more than 65 years, the agency has operated the Low-Rent Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher Programs, as well as various home ownership and support programs for low-to moderate-income families, seniors and the disabled. The Houston Housing Authority is not part of the City of Houston or Harris County. The Housing Authority is the local administrator of the Low-Rent Public Housing Program and the Housing Choice Voucher Program, as well as various home ownership programs.
Our programs are separate initiatives from the housing assistance programs offered by the city and the county.
